Morocco's coach on the Croatia match: The worst match you can play

"This is the worst game we have to play, but we have to play it despite the frustration," Rekragui said in         the press conference preceding the third-place match against Croatia.

Rekragui added, "Croatia also wants a third place, and we met them at the beginning of the tournament, and it will be a good ending for us, so the match will not be like to walk in the park," he said.

For his part, Abu Khalil disagreed with his coach about his view of the match against Croatia and said: "I think it is a good match because we are playing for third place and this has not happened in the history of African teams. We played against France in the semi-finals and we should be proud," as he put it.

Regarding the arbitration controversy that arose after the semi-final match, Regragui said: “France faced a similar problem related to arbitration in the match that they lost to Tunisia and the French Federation submitted a protest against that, and despite that let us recognize France’s right to win, but when there are arbitration errors it is important that We refer to it... Would the penalty kick have qualified us for the final? I do not know and no one knows, but when such cases occur, the federation must refer to it, and the French federation did so in the Tunisia match," he said.

The Moroccan Federation had submitted an official protest to FIFA against the referee's performance in the France match due to the presence of two penalty kicks that were not counted in that confrontation, one of which was against Sofiane Boufal and the other against Salim Amlah.

The Moroccan coach added, "Our federation has lodged a protest and they are right to do so, but this matter will not change anything for us, and we wish success to the French team, but I think a penalty kick should have been awarded to us and Sofiane Boufal should not have received a yellow card." Saying it.

And about the status of injuries and how they will affect the squad that will enter the next match, Rekragui said: "Despite the injuries, all players want to participate tomorrow, but we are taking a chance on Roman Sayess, and he will certainly not play."

And the Morocco coach continued his talk about the match, saying: "It is difficult for me, to lose the semi-final and two days later to come back and play. I understand the importance of third place, but for me, I sum it up by losing the semi-final."

Regarding the way the match against France started, Regragui said: "I do not regret the way I entered the France match. Given the options that were available and the injuries we suffered, I had to choose the best way," he said.

It is noteworthy that Morocco will face Croatia in the match for third place in the current World Cup, on Saturday, on the grounds of Khalifa International Stadium.
