Entertainer Jane Fonda said she feels "honored" and "exceptionally fortunate" to have her disease abating.
The entertainer, who turns 85 on Wednesday, portrayed the news as "the best birthday present of all time".
"Much thanks to you every one of you who supplicated and sent great contemplations my way," she wrote in a blog entry.
The star was getting treatment for non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
She told her 1.9 million supporters on Instagram in September that it was "an entirely treatable cancer...so I feel exceptionally fortunate," adding that she will go through chemotherapy for more than a half year.
