FIFA: Morocco will host the 2022 FIFA Club World Cup

FIFA President Gianni Infantino said, during a press conference in the Qatari capital, Doha, that the African country will host the tournament in its nineteenth edition, while the FIFA account on Twitter stated: "See you in Morocco."

The edition witnesses the participation of clubs: Moroccan Wydad, Spanish Real Madrid (European Champion), American Seattle Sounders (North American Champion), Brazilian Flamengo (South American Champion) and New Zealand’s Auckland City (Oceanian Champion), while the Asian representative has not yet been identified.

It is expected that the Moroccan club Wydad (the African champion) will participate in the Club World Cup as the champion of the local championship, because the finals will be held in Morocco, provided that Al-Ahly of Egypt, the runner-up of the African Champions League, will participate as a representative of the brown continent.

Morocco previously hosted the Club World Cup, in two editions, in 2013 and 2014.
